We had a wonderful day on Sunday, May 18th, riding in Baystate Health’s Wheeling for Healing charity bike ride.
We met in the Yankee Candle parking lot, just down the road from our home. We raised a few hundred dollars and enjoyed our ride on familiar routes in our town of South Deerfield and in Whately, the next town over. Lunch was catered by Frigo’s Deli in Springfield.
Topping it off, Stephen demonstrated that at 75 years old he can still do his “no hands juggling on the bicycle” routine, straight out of his vaudeville slapstick act from long ago.
On another topic, Stephen has a new writing project in the works. Bela spent two weeks editing his latest effort. Stephen showed his appreciation by taking his in-house editor to dinner at the Delaney House in Holyoke and buying her red roses!
Last year was a year of cancellations. This year is a year of excitement as we reconfigure our travel plans. Stephen is going to Scotland to visit his sister Nancy who lives way up north of Inverness. Bela, after deciding to update her French has put together a trip that includes a stop in Dublin, a few days in Paris, meeting a friend south of Paris, and finally meeting up with Stephen and Nancy in Edinburgh.
Wishing you all the best!
